Drink from the cup and temple of God

Today I learnt 2 truths in the bible

The meaning of "drink from my cup"
Matthew 20:22 "you dont know what you are asking." Jesus said to them. "Can you drink from the cup i am going to drink?"

What exactly is the cup?
In this event, it was the mother of Zebedee's sons who came to Jesus to ask that her sons (James and John) may sit at Jesus' right and left in His kingdom. And then Jesus answered her with that verse.

Psalm 75:7-8
But it is God who judges: He brings one down , he exalts another. In the hand of the Lord is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices;he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to its very dregs.

Isaiah 51:17
Awake, awake! Rise up, o Jerusalem, you who have drunk from the hand of the Lord the cup of his wrath; you who have drained to its dregs that goblet that makes men stagger.

From these 2 references , it is very obvious that first :
Jesus drinks the cup - that is from God's hand
Whats in the cup : God's wrath towards God's people

Why did Jesus want to drink this cup?
Matthew 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be seved , but to serve, and to give His life as ransom for many
Read also John 18:11 and 1 peter 2:24
Obviously by drinking this cup means that Jesus is drinking all God's wrath in place of us. He gave His life that we may not need to drink from the Lord's cup

So which cup do we drink from?
Matthew 26:27-29
Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them saying," drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, i will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when i drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom."
So we are drinking Jesus cup which is cup of forgiveness

Follow onto that, have you heard people always say temple of God? What does it really mean? It is not a building like what we know from our everyday life.
If you read from Matthew 21:13
"It is written," he [Jesus] said to them [the people buying and selling in the temple] ," my house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers." - it is actually not merely building or a place but lets take a look closely at other passages
John 2:18-21
Then the Jews demanded of him," what miraculous sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?" Jesus answered them, "destroy this temple and i will raise it again in 3 days." The Jews replied," it has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise in 3 days?" But the temple he had spoken of was his body.
1 Corin 6:19 do you not know that your body is a temple of Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
Ephesians 2:21-22
In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his spirit.

In other words, our body is God's temple whereby His Spirit lives in.

How do we cleanse this temple of our body?
Read Titus 3:5 , 1 John 7-9,3:24

All the above was what i gain from BSF study questions.

All glory to God
